Replacement theology refuted from Scripture

holy-bible

The teaching that God is forever done with Israel as a nation is unbiblical and unfounded in the Scripture. Many prominent pastors hold this position. R.C. Sproul and his ilk, as well as many in the reformed churches.

There really is no valid argument for the idea the God is done with Israel. It is clearly shown in Scripture that God is most certainly not.

Has God fulfilled all His promises to Israel?

Hardly.

One of the tenets of replacement theology is to deny that a literal Jew is not really a Jew. This may not be the idea all replacement theologians hold to, but it is what I have seen the most.

In other words, someone who is a Jew according to the flesh, in God’s eyes is not, and only Christians are the true Jews.

Here is a quote from R.C. Sproul Jr.

We’re not dispensationalists here…. We believe that the answer to, “What about the Jews?” is, “Here we are.” We deny that the church is God’s “plan B.” We deny that we are living in God’s redemptive parenthesis. [From Table Talk magazine, Spring of 1999, p. 2 (inside cover), by R. C. Sproul Jr., editor]

Actually, the answer to the question “What about the Jews” is clearly laid out in Scripture.

Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Romans 11:25-26

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Not only do these verses blow away replacement theology, they also blow away amillennialism.

We cannot be in the kingdom right now because the fullness of the gentiles has to come in, and God’s attention will then go back to the Jews. This wont happen if we’re awaiting the final consummation after the kingdom.

But what about a literal Jew?

Is a Jewish person really a Jew according to the New Testament?

1 Corinthians 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

Jew, Gentile, and church of God. Three different entities and yes a Jewish person really is a Jewish person.

Replacement theology is an anti semitic doctrine at heart. There is absolutely no reason to teach God is done with the Jews.

To further back destroy replacement theology, lets dig into the Book of Revelation.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Who are those who pierced Him?

Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Those who pierced Him are the Jews.

When the remnant sees Jesus return, they will mourn for Him. Then He will bring them into the millennial kingdom.

What remnant?

Romans 11:5  Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

The replacement theologians can deny they are living in a “parenthesis” and try to make the church age an eternal millennial kingdom, but it is not.

As a matter of fact, one of the reasons for the church is to provoke Israel to jealousy.

Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

Anyone who teaches God is done with Israel is simply a false teacher and needs to be rebuked and reproved.
